Sentant ses forces décliner, Proust écrivit (au début du printemps 1922), le mot "Fin", tout en bas du dernier feuillet du dernier cahier, après la fameuse phrase : "[---] Ne manquerais-je pas d'abord d'y décrire les hommes [---] comme des géants plongés dans les années à des époques, vécues par eux si distantes, entre lesquelles tant de jour sont venus se placer – dans le Temps"

Feeling its forces to decline, Proust wrote (at the beginning of spring 1922), the  words "The End", all in bottom of the last layer of the last book, after the famous sentence: "[---] would not initially fail I to describe there the men [---] like giants plunged in the years at times, lived by them so distant, between which such an amount of day came to be placed - in Time "
