Text ( Hommage à Joseph DeLappe ) MGandhi Chakrabarti (aka Joseph DeLappe) presents a performative reading in Second Life of the recently released, and now infamous, Bush-era Torture Memos. MGandhi is presently imprisoned in a reproduction of the Yeravda Prison in SL for a 9-month durational reenactment of Gandhi's 1930 post-Salt March jail sentence. This reenactment commenced on May 5th of 2008 to coincide with the 79th anniversary of Gandhi's imprisonment by the British in 1930. MGandhi is presently online 24 hours a day in his cell, I am inhabiting him daily to interact with visitors. Gandhi will be released from prison on January 26th, 2010. When: MGandhi will read the memos verbatim, all 121 pages, into local chat from his jail cell in Second Life, beginning at 9am SLT, (Second Life Time) July 4th, 2009.
